Find the work happening outside Odoo
Watch a real order or planning change move through the business. Record where someone switches to email, a spreadsheet or a phone call, and why. Those workarounds often contain rules the system does not yet express.
A practical planning example
For phased installation work, a proposed flow can connect a confirmed order to a site file, quantities, phase dates, readiness checks and a capacity view. The planner confirms the schedule before customer messages are prepared. This is an illustrative design pattern, not a completed client deployment.
Respect the existing environment
Confirm the Odoo version, installed modules, customisations, hosting and partner responsibilities before estimating integration work. Retail stock and point-of-sale components do not automatically solve installation planning.
Start with a bounded build
Agree one workflow, the source of truth for each field and the human decision points. Identify standard Odoo actions before choosing custom development. Full migrations, accounting changes and a separate route planner require their own scope.
Validate the whole chain
Test a normal order, a changed date, a blocked phase, missing data and an integration failure. Reconcile records and check permissions in a test environment before the pilot. Document operation and recovery with the team.
